oooooooooohhhhhhhhh laaaaaaaa laaaaaaaa!
Raw, vegan, sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, high calcium, local, Nicaraguan,easy-to-do, delicious cacao treats!
1/2 cup chocolate Sunwarrior Protein Powder (best tasting raw protein powder on the planet)
1/2 cup raw cacao powder
6 soaked prunes
(soak prunes in water over night to soften. save sweetened water for smoothies or chia cereals)
2 tbsp organic coconut oil
2 tbsp ground flax seeds
1-2 tbsp raw tahini
2 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp raw honey
*1/2 cup slivered or chopped raw almonds for the exterior
Add first 3 ingredients. Blend in food processor. Add remaining ingredients and blend till it turns into a cookie dough consistency. Try it! If it is not sweet enough for you, add a bit more honey till it is to your liking. Take a small piece of the cacao dough and roll into a ball. If it is too dry add a tiny bit more honey. If it is too wet, add a bit more protein powder. The consistency should not stick all over your hands. (think of it as playdough…remember those days??!) Then roll the ball into chopped almonds or slivered almonds. Store in freezer and enjoy your uber healthy cacao treats high in protein, calcium, and fibre!
After much experimentation and research, I have discovered a way to roll your cacao balls perfectly. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT TECHNIQUE and it is the first time I have shared this information with anyone.
