GLO Homemade 5 Ingredient Deodorant Recipe….that works better than anything I have ever bought

Updated: Sep 18

With just 5 ingredients, you can raise your hands with reckless abandon. Stay dry and smell good with this 5 ingredient DIY deodorant!

Making your own all-natural, chemical-free deodorant is super easy and fun! You are eliminating chemicals in your lifestyle while still using something that keeps odors and sweat minimal. PLUS you’re keeping your immune system strong. You can also use different oils in this recipe to make different pleasing smells that have specific positive benefits for the body.

Raw coconut oil kills odor causing fungi, yeast, and bacteria. It’s also great because it will solidify the mixture when cold. Aluminum-free baking soda neutralizes odors. Arrowroot powder helps to absorb moisture. Sunwarrior Immune Shield is anti-bacterial, anti-Fungal, anti-viral, and immune boosting. Frankincense is an antiseptic and disinfectant. Frankincense oil is also immune boosting and is known to reduce anxiety and stress. Frankincense may help fight cancer, and deal with chemotherapy side effects. Frankincense oil also helps with regulating estrogen production, hormone balancing, and reducing the effects of PMS. It is a nice, healing addition to your DIY deodorant that has practical disinfecting benefits but also cell health benefits.

GLO 5 Ingredient Deodorant

INGREDIENTS

5 Ingredient Deodorant

  1. ¼ cup aluminum-free baking soda

  2. ¼ cup arrowroot powder

  3. 4 tablespoons raw, organic coconut oil (at room temperature so it is soft)

  4. Optional: 8 drops of pure essential oil of choice

  5. Optional: ½ teaspoon Sunwarrior Immune Shield

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix baking soda and arrowroot together in a medium sized bowl.

  2. Mash in coconut oil with a fork until well mixed.

  3. Mix in essential oil and Immune Shield

  4. Optional: I also added ½ teaspoon of colloidal silver for extra anti-bacterial benefits.

  5. Store in small glass jar or old deodorant container for easy use. Since you only need a little bit, a small jar should last you for about 6 months! Store in a dry, cool place away from sunlight.

Tips:

  1. Apply with fingers. You only need a very small amount. Make sure it is fully rubbed into your armpit to avoid any potential staining of shirts. I like to massage it into my armpit, knowing that I am helping to move my lymph for better health, take a deep breath, and say a positive affirmation.

  2. If you don’t have arrowroot powder, you can also use organic corn starch from Bob’s Red Mill. Or you can make this recipe with baking soda only.

  3. Some people notice irritation from baking soda. If so, then omit it from the recipe and use arrowroot powder in its place.

  4. If you’re purchasing essential oils, avoid oils that say “fragrance oil” or “perfume oil” as these can be synthetic and can be more toxic than beneficial. Instead, look for oils that say “pure essential oil” or “100% essential oil” for the highest quality essential oil.
