Did you know that most store bought p-nut butters are toxic???
An even better option is almond butter which is really popular these days but can be pricey. Make your own almond or nut butter for less than the store and add in some extras to make it unique and yummy. Almonds are a great source of protein, calcium, Vitamin E, and fibre.
You will need:
A food processor or Vitamix
2 cups of almonds (or nut of your choice)
A pinch or two of celtic sea salt
1-2 tsp coconut oil
1 tbsp chia seeds
Cinnamon powder
A few drops of real vanilla
Directions: Place all the almonds in your food processor and blend for 8-10 minutes. Every 2-3 minutes you may need to stop the processor and use a spoon scrape down the sides of the bowl. At first the mixture will get crumbly. Just keep on processing because it will turn creamy! Once your almond butter is creamy add chia seeds, and a pinch of sea salt, cinnamon, and vanilla. Store in an air tight container or jar in your refrigerator for up to a month.
SOOOOO GOOOOD! and so easy. Who knew?!
My fave gluten-free option? (besides eating it with a spoon!) Spread your delicious, homemade nut butter on apple slices.
You are what you eat.
You are what you think.
